Travel Plans: Where We’re Headed
We’re kicking off 2025 with a solid game plan for our travels. While flexibility is always key in RV life, here’s what’s on the itinerary.
For the first few months of the year, Yuma will be our home base. It’s the perfect spot to settle in while we prepare for upcoming adventures—and there’s a bonus! From February 9th to April 9th, my parents are coming to visit. Having family around is a treat, and we’re looking forward to sharing this slice of RV life with them. Whether exploring the local area or enjoying time together, these months are about making memories and soaking up that Yuma sunshine.
We plan to visit Page, Arizona, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, and a few other off-the-beaten-path spots. In New Mexico, we plan to revisit some national parks, explore Roswell, and visit various national monuments. We also want to explore St. George in Utah, Sand Hollow State Park, and the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.
Our journey wouldn’t be complete without Colorado, where we’re excited to check off two new national parks: Mesa Verde, with its ancient cliff dwellings, and Black Canyon of the Gunnison, known for its dramatic and rugged beauty. Finally, as fall approaches, we’ll go to North Dakota for the sugar beet harvest before circling back to Arizona for the winter.
This year’s itinerary includes revisiting familiar places and discovering new ones, and we can’t wait to see where the road takes us!
Goals for the Year: More Than Just Travel
While our RV travels take center stage, we also focus on personal and family goals.
Spend More Time Outdoors: We’re committing to hiking, geocaching, and Jeep trail adventures. Lexie wants to find more lakes and rivers where she can swim.
Learn New Skills: This year, we’re diving into fun and practical survival skills. Think archery, map and compass navigation, and general “survivor-style” know-how. It’s a fun way to connect with nature while learning valuable skills.
Purge and Organize: It’s time for a huge RV purge. Living in a small space means regularly reevaluating what we genuinely need, and we’re going all in this year. Over the next few months, we’ll tackle the clutter and streamline our space for a more peaceful and efficient home.
Home Improvement Projects – We have a few projects lined up:
- Adding a locking door for more privacy in our bedroom
- Revamping our small bathroom to make it more functional and inviting
- Upgrading the area under the stove (new air fryer!)
- Installing a bookshelf in the hallway for better storage
Creative Pursuits and Business Goals: Kylie plans to expand our ExploreMore Store with new products like earrings, prints, and fun shirt designs. Stay tuned for updates—we’re always looking for ways to share our love of adventure with others!
Embracing the RV Life: Challenges and Opportunities
One unique aspect of this year is that we’re staying in a smaller geographic area for at least the next two years. Instead of seeing this as a limitation, we’re embracing it as an opportunity to explore local spots we might otherwise overlook. This means diving deep into what’s around us, finding hidden gems, and making the most of every weekend trip and Jeep trail.
Why We’re Excited for 2025
This year feels like a fresh chapter—a chance to reconnect with nature, focus on personal growth, and check off some big items on our bucket list. Whether hiking in the desert, learning archery skills, or enjoying time with family, every moment adds to a richer RV lifestyle.
